#DoYouIndie Challenge ends today. In 30 days, we have touched on various topics: travel budgeting, travel experiences, travel values, being a responsible traveler and many more. This was 30 days packed with knowledge and interaction!
Although I missed a few days here and there, this experience was pure fun and helped me not only consider things I had never considered before (a travel manifesto) but also rethink ideas and new ways of traveling.
The 30 day challenge ends with the question below:

We all started somewhere and we all were once ‘new’ to traveling. Although, I do not consider myself a seasoned traveler, I do have plenty of experiences as someone who went from being ‘new’ to traveling to now planning and traveling quite frequently. My top 3 pieces of advice:
Start small and build your confidence – For your first trip, pick a location close to home or somewhere where you have friends/family. As you plan, save and embark on your first destination, you will build confidence to travel a little further or maybe do a solo trip!
Determine your destination based on what you enjoy. I like history and the beach life. I tend to pick locations that have a vibrant history and a beach close by. If you are a wine lover, then Rhone Valley, France may be a good choice for you. If you are into surfing, Costa Rica may be your spot. Your interests and passions are good starting points when choosing a vacation spot.
Be open: heart and mind. Chances are the places you will visit will challenge your mind, taste buds and sometimes patience. Keep an open mind, relax and enjoy!
